Welcome to Granulites & Granulites 2013
The 2013 “Granulites and Granulites” meeting will be held in the city of Hyderabad between 16 and 20 January 2013.
This will be the third in a series of international conferences held every three to four years to bring together researchers interested in all aspects of high-temperature metamorphism and the evolution of the lower continental crust.
Following the success of earlier conferences in Brazil (2006) and the Czech Republic (2009), this meeting will combine three and a half days of technical sessions with pre- and post-conference fieldtrips to classic exposures of high-temperature rocks in the Eastern Ghats and the Kerala Khondalite Belt.
The metamorphic rocks of India have been central to a number of granulite controversies, including the origins of charnockite and the role of volatile fluids in the lower crust. We invite you to continue this tradition of discussion and debate both in the conference hall and on the outcrop at Granulites and Granulites 2013!
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS – Fieldtrip support for junior Indian researchers
The Fermor Fund of the Geological Society of London has provided generous financial support to allow six Indian students and junior scientists to attend each of the two fieldtrips associated with Granulites and Granulites 2013 at a greatly reduced fee. Further information and instructions on how to apply for one of these places are available on the fieldtrip page.
